भाकरा नांगल धरण हा एक बहु उद्देशीय प्रकल्प आहे, तो पंजाब आणि हिमाचल प्रदेश यांच्या सीमेवर बांधला गेला आहे. सतलज नदीवर असलेले भाकरा धरण पंजाब आणि हिमाचल प्रदेशला पाणी पुरवठा करते. याच धरणाचे पाणी वापरून दिल्ली, चंदिगडसह उत्तर भारतातील बऱ्याच मोठ्या भूप्रदेशाला वीज पुरवठा केला जातो. हिमाचल प्रदेशातील भाकरा नांगल धरण हे भूकंपप्रवण क्षेत्रात येते.
