जागतिक महासागर दिवस दरवर्षी 8 जून रोजी साजरा केला जातो. युनेस्कोच्या म्हणण्यानुसार, 2008 मध्ये संयुक्त राष्ट्रांच्या महासभेने आपला जगाचा सामायिक महासागर आणि समुद्राशी असलेले आपले वैयक्तिक संबंध साजरे करण्यासाठी 8 जून हा दिवस ‘जागतिक महासागर दिवस’ म्हणून नियुक्त करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला.
